VANCOUVER - Aug 18/12 - SNS -- North American lentil markets are well into the transition into a new crop pricing basis as the pace of the years harvest picks up in Saskatchewan.
The week started with 13% of Canadas lentil crop in the bin, compared to none at this time in 2009 or 2010.
Though matching the recent five-year average, this years harvest is well off the pace seen in 2006 and 2007, when a third of the crop was already in the bin.
