Pace of Pulse Seeding Stays SlowVANCOUVER - Jul 27/12 - SNS -- Seeding of this year's kharif or summer monsoon season pulse crops continued at a slower pace than normal during the past week, according to India's Agriculture Department's weekly seeding progress update. Land in pulses now totals 6.299 million hectares of pulses, compared to 7.391 million at this time last year, 8.736 million in 2010 and 7.545 million in 2009. Normally, India's farmers have planted three-quarters of the pulses they will grow by the end of July.
