Lentil Market Winds SoftenVANCOUVER - Jun 30/12 - SNS -- A bigger than expected seeded area for lentils took some of the wind out of current and new markets during the past week, resulting in lower trading levels for most classes of North American lentils. Markets had expected the June seeded area estimates to come in below the March seeding intentions. Instead, farmers said they planted 2.61 million acres of lentils. Not only is area up slightly from last year, it creates the potential for this to become the second largest crop in Canadian history.
