Lentils Steady Before Area Reports
VANCOUVER - Jun 22/12 - SNS -- North American lentil markets maintained their firm tone heading into a week which will see both Statistics Canada and the USDA release their first seeded area estimates for 2012.
Markets fully expect the reports to show that seeded is up in the United States, but down in western Canada.
Unlike the previous two years, Canada's number will be seen as firmer by markets because a large proportion of the lentils which be planted this year were already in the ground during the survey period.
