Mixed Week in Birdseeds
VANCOUVER - Mar 24/12 - SNS - North American birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note, with limited end user buying reported by processors and exporters.
Sunflower seed markets continue to be strongly influenced by the oilseed complex, both of which posted minor gains on the week.
Old crop oil and confectionary sunflower seed prices are also supported by tight supplies. New crop prices need to remain firm enough to convince growers to stick with the crop in the face of stiff competition for land use from soybeans, corn and wheat.
