Few Changes in Birdseeds
VANCOUVER - Mar 16/12 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets remain little changed in limited trading interest, with offers from growers closely matching the short term needs of the market.
The only birdseed ingredient showing any tangible price movement seems to be oil-type sunflower, which are more closely tied to soybeans and canola than the birdseed sector. Confectionary sunflower and U.S. white proso millet markets finished the unchanged in limited trading.
Chatter among growers suggests some view current prices for canaryseed as a signal to increase production.
