Few Changes in Birdseeds
VANCOUVER - Feb 25/12 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were little changed against relatively light trading interest.
Canadian canaryseed, U.S. white proso millet and confectionary sunflower markets were all unchanged on the week. Oil type sunflower markets managed to post modest gains in sympathy with the oilseed complex.
It was affected at week's end by USDA predictions of record corn acreage in the United States this year, which would result in little change to soybean plantings. Soybean markets were also helped by weakness in crude oil and the U.S. dollar, which contributed to the firmer finish for oil-type sunflower.
