Mixed Week in Brdseeds
VANCOUVER - Jan 20/12 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets recorded a mixed performance during the past week, with many processors reporting limited end-user buying interest.
Oil-type sunflower seed markets were generally easier on the week, slipping in sympathy with soft oilseed markets such as canola.
Even so, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association cautions, "Given the small 2011 . . . crop, processors are actively bidding for 2012 acres. Sunflower seed stocks will be extremely tight by the end of this market year and demand for all sunflower products remains strong."
