Generally Easier Finish For Birdseeds

VANCOUVER - Nov 26/11 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredients markets finished the week's trading on a generally easier note on account of weakness in grains and oilseeds and last week's sharp rise in the value of the U.S. dollar.

This was reflected in a general easing in grower bids for oil-type sunflower during the past week.

By contrast, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association reports, "Birdfood demand continues to dominate the domestic sunflower market.

"The sharp reduction in planted 2011 acres has led to aggressive buying as birdfood buyers seek to secure stocks ahead of the winter months, the prime bird feeding season."
