Peas Maintain Firm Tone

VANCOUVER - Oct 29/11 - SNS -- International field pea markets maintained heir firm tone through the week, with European markets lifting now that any remaining harvest selling pressure has ended.

This saw feed pea grower bids and FOB price indications advance on the week, while exporters in Rouen held food pea bids steady at a Euro 40 per metric ton (MT) premium to feed.

Markets were left a little nervous about sales prospects in the second and third quarters of 2012 because of significant increases to minimum support prices (MSP) to farmers for the coming rabi or winter season pulse crop.
