Lentil Markets Hold Steady

VANCOUVER - Oct 7/11 - SNS -- Markets were little affected by the latest crop production estimates from Canada, even though it did little to improve the fundamental outlook for the commodity in Canada.

Of greater impact were volatile currency markets, which saw many international currencies move sharply against the U.S. dollar.

Worries about sovereign debt in some European nations combined with fears western economies would slip back into a recession to result in volatility in currencies, stocks and commodities.
