Onfarm Pea Stocks Dropping Rapidly
VANCOUVER - Oct 7/11 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a firm note against good export movement and slowing offers from growers.
Western Canadian farmers sold a considerable portion of the peas they had available on their farms this season.
Deliveries into the primary elevator system totalled 627,800 metric tons (MT) the first nine weeks of the current marketing year, down from 687,100 last year. This does not take into account deliveries into cleaning or splitters plants in western Canada.
