Seasonal Improvement in French Pea Sales
VANCOUVER - Oct 7/11 - SNS -- French field pea export movement was seasonally stronger in August, though falling well short of last year, according to the latest data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Exports during the month totalled 42,795 metric tons (MT), up from the 16,830 MT shipped in July, but down from the 78,545 MT of field peas exported the same month the previous year.
This lifts field pea exports so far during the 2011-12 marketing year to 59,625 MT, versus 95,265 MT during the same period last season.
