Pea Exports Approach 2010-11 Levels
VANCOUVER - Oct 3/11 - SNS -- Bulk conventional exports of pulses and other specialty crops from Canada picked up the pace in September, with total shipments just slightly behind last year.
During the month, exporters loaded seven ships at Vancouver with 385,064 metric tons (MT) of peas; one ship at Thunder Bay with 20,819 MT of lentils; and shipped partial holds of mustard and canaryseed.
Movement will remain good in October. There are currently six vessels nominated to lift peas from Vancouver this month. There are none nominated to lift product from other ports.
