VANCOUVER - Aug 20/11 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished the week little changed, but with an easier undertone as the North American harvest gains momentum.
As the week got underway, an estimated 10% of the lentils grown in Saskatchewan were harvested, versus just 3% at this time last year. Some markets participants expect this to jump past 30% by the start of the coming week.
In the United States, crop reporters in Montana say 27% of the state's lentil crop was in the bin at the start of the week, down from 44% at this time last year.
