Mixed Week in Birdseeds
VANCOUVER - Jul 30/11 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets managed a mixed finish on the week, with seeds steady to firmer and oilseeds weaker.
This was clearly reflected in sunflower markets, with oil-type declining in value on the week and confectionary holding steady against worries about the size of the pending crop.
White proso millet seed was also steady, while this year's reduced acreage and the need to ration available supplies in the coming year helped lift canaryseed markets higher.
