Smaller Crop Prospects Keep Birdseeds Firm
VANCOUVER - Jul 8/11 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone through the past week against smaller prospective North American canaryseed, millet and confectionary sunflower seed harvests.
Markets will not be certain about the actual quantity of each crop seeded until later in the season.
Markets are looking toward the August crop report from Statistics Canada to clarify how many acres of canaryseed were planted; while waiting until later in the season for updated estimates for millet, confectionary sunflower, and safflower seed in the United States.
