Few Changes in Chickpeas

VANCOUVER - Apr 22/11 - SNS -- International chickpea markets finished the week's trading unchanged to firmer against limited availability of current or new crop production from Mexico.

Markets are looking forward to Tuesday's seeding intentions report for Canada to see if farmers in that country are showing greater interest in planting the crop than last year.

However, even if that is the case, there is an understanding that because of a wetter than normal spring and expectations that seeding will be delayed at least three weeks across much of western Canada, that there could be a world of difference between farmers intentions and what they actually plant.
