Chickpea Tone Remains Bullish

VANCOUVER - Mar 13/11 - SNS -- Chickpea markets maintained their bullish tone through the past week as markets are becoming convinced the problems with Mexico's harvest are not being exaggerated.

This helped lift asking prices for chickpeas from other origins, with Canadian markets gaining roughly $22 per metric ton (MT) for all sizes of kabuli type chickpeas.

New crop product is being freely offered by Indian exporters, with exporters nominally quoting U.S. $1150 MT FOB Indian ports for 56/58 count chickpeas and $1300 MT for 40/42 count product.
