Frost Events Support Chickpeas

VANCOUVER - Feb 12/11 - SNS -- International chickpea markets finished the week's trading on a firm note against reports of significant damage to Mexico's crop from frost events the past week.

This is the third major weather problem in a key chickpea producing country.

The first was the wet growing conditions which drastically reduced yields in Australia. The second is poor weather in India's rabi or winter season cropping areas, which has delayed crops by about a month.
