Relatively Firm Finish in Birdseeds
VANCOUVER - Dec 11/10 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a relatively firm note, with key ingredients such as sunflower seed generally matching price movement in oilseeds.
Commenting on the situation, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association said, "The overall commodities market continues to show favorable fundamentals for most crops, including sunflower.
"The competition for 2011 acres will be aggressive as most crops will be looking for an acreage expansion in the coming year. Markets will be active as long as China stays in the market and the battle for acres continues into 2011."
