Sunflower Ending Stocks Drop
WASHINGTON - Sep 30/10 - SNS -- Sunflower stocks in all positions as of September 1 were down 27% from last year, according to the USDA's stocks in all positions report.
Old crop sunflower stocks in all positions totaled 359 million pounds on September 1. All stocks stored on farms totaled 81.5 million pounds and off-farm stocks totaled 277 million pounds.
Stocks of oil type sunflower seed are 297 million pounds; of this total, 68.0 million pounds are on-farm stocks and 229 million pounds are off-farm stocks. Non-oil sunflower stocks totaled 61.4 million pounds, with 13.5 million pounds stored on the farm and 47.9 million pounds stored off the farm.
