Firming Note in Birdseeds
VANCOUVER - Sep 19/10 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a mostly firmer note, helped by harvest delays in Canada and the need for prices to rise in the United States to remain competitive with other crops at the grower level.
Commercial traders emerged as buyers of corn, suggesting the USDA estimates may be on the high side and that prices will rise as a result.
This spills over into minor crops because of the need to generate competitive returns to farmers to maintain acreage.
