Canaryseed Numbers Appear Bullish
VANCOUVER - Aug 21/10 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets did not have time to react to what appears to be a bullish seeded area and crop production numbers for Canadian canaryseed.
Farmers had initially intended to seed 510,000 acres of canaryseed this year. But, a negative reaction from markets combined with poor seeding conditions for force a downward revision in intentions to 435,000 acres.
At the time that number was released in June, it seemed more likely area would be under 325,000 acres.
