Canadian Special Crop Index Review

VANCOUVER - Aug 10/10 - STAT -- Canada's speciallty crop crop dealer price index finished the 2009-10 marketing year falling 10% below the recent three year average.

For the season just ended, the Special Crop Index was 164 points, compared to an annual average of 183 during the previous three year period for dry edible bean classes included in the index calculation.

Analysis of the monthly price pattern reveals the highest monthly average was 187 points in January, while the lowest monthly average trading level was 143 points in May.
