No 1 Red Lentil Grower Price Review in Canada
VANCOUVER - Aug 9/10 - STAT -- Canadian No 1 Red Lentil markets finished the 2009-10 marketing year with prices offered to growers falling 12% below the recent three year average annual price offered to growers in that country.
The average price paid for No 1 Red Lentil was CDN$29.64 per 100 pounds (cwt), compared to an average annual bid of $33.51 during the latest three year period for farmers dressed merchandise delivered processing plants.
Analysis of the monthly bid pattern reveals growers the highest monthly average bid was $36.88 per cwt in January, while the lowest monthly average bid level was $23.94 per cwt in June.
