Little Change In Birdseeds
PANAMA - Jun 2/23 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were largely unchanged during the past week, reflecting good balance between the willingness of farmers to sell and the immediate needs of processors and exporters.
Seeding is making good progress in both Canada and the United States. Canaryseed planting progress in Canada is in line with the previous five year average at 93% complete as the week got underway, compared to just 79% at the same time last year.
In the United States for example, Colorado reported 26% of its millet and 25% of its sunflower seed crop was in the ground as the week got underway, both above the recent five year average and well ahead of last year.
