N.A. Birdseeds Strengthen
PANAMA - Sep 23/22 - SNS -- Noerth American birdseed ingredient markets continued to firm during the past week against doubts about available supplies of white proso millet and limited participation in markets by canaryseed growers.
Though Canada's harvest is well advanced, farmers remain busy in their fields, limiting interest in selling new crop product.
This year's canaryseed harvest started the week with 55% of the seeded area harvested, compared to 85% at the same time last year, but above the recent five year average of 46%. Progress in canaryseed is generally slower than other crops because it weather's well.
