Birdseeds Uneasy Over Canaryseed
PANAMA - Sep 16/22 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets posted a mixed finish during the past week, with cynicism over Canadian yield estimates having a modest influence over asking prices.
Statistics Canada pegged the harvest just under 157,000 metric tons (MT) from 291,300 acres, compared to almost 133,000f from 354,000 acres last year.
Interestingly yield estimates from Saskatchewan Agriculture were higher than Statistics Canada's model based estimate, suggesting the potential for the harvest tp reach 161,500 MT, compared to the recent five year average of around 172,200 MT.
