WASHINGTON - Aug 12/22 - SNS -- United States peach total production for the 2022 season is forecast at 583,500 tons, is down 15% from 2021, according to the latest USDA production estimate.
In California, the largest growing State, production is forecast at 430,000 tons, is down 2% from the previous forecast and down 15% from 2021. California Freestone production is forecast at 240,000 tons, down 4% from the previous forecast and down 14% from 2021.
California Clingstone production is forecast at 190,000 tons, unchanged from the previous forecast and down 16% from 2021.
South Carolina production is forecast at 76,000 tons, down 13% from the previous season. Georgia production, forecast at 26,000 tons, is down 26% from the previous season.
