Birdseeds Maintain Firm Tone
PANAMA - Jun 3/22 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone through the past week.
Speculation Canadian growers will plant less canaryseed than intended is adding to strength in both spot and new crop markets.
The seeding intentions report suggested area will drop 15% to 267,700 acres. However, processors and exporters are concerned with the pace of seeding, which started the week at 79% complete, down from 99% last year and the recent average of 97% planted by the end of May.
