Modest Firmness in Birdseeds
PANAMA - Apr 29/22 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were somewhat sceptical of the seeding intentions numbers reported by Statistics Canada during the past week.
Instead of increasing, the federal agency said growers intend to reduce land in canaryseed from 314,000 acres last year to 267,700 this year.
If yields are at their recent five year average and actual seedings matched the intentions, production would advance from 117,600 to 156,000 metric tons (MT).
