Millet, Canaryseed Diverge
PANAMA - Oct 9/21 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets maintained their recent mixed tone during the past week as markets adjust to a fundamental shortage of some ingredients.
The most obvious issue is with canaryseed, with the latest provincial yield estimates suggesting production could be closer to 109,000 metric tons (MT) than the current forecast of 125,100.
Even so, processors and exporters are meeting some resistance to current values, with those with unsold positions pushing on price to try to turn over inventories.
