Easing Canaryseed Offset
PANAMA - Sep 24/21 - SNS -- North American birdseed markets maintained their generally firm tone during the past week, despite some easing in Canadian canaryseed markets.
Canaryseed backed off slightly in both grower and inter dealer markets, reflecting above average harvest progress. As the week got underway 85% of the crop was in the bin, compared to 65% at this time last year and the recent five year average of 46%.
Market performance suggest a good number of growers took advantage of record high bid levels rather than waiting to see if values continue advancing.
