Birdseeds Maintain Firm Tone
PANAMA -Dec 11/20 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone through the past week as sales from growers slipped behind the short term needs of processors and exporters.
Grower selling interest has been impacted by the fact they were able to readily sell all they wanted after harvest, diminishing their need to sell what is in their bins to generate cash flow.
This was reflected in modest advances in inter-dealer and export asking prices for both canaryseed and white proso millet. Week over week gains were also recorded in oil type sunflower, though confection sunflower bids remain steady.
