WASHINGTON - Aug 12/20 - SNS -- United States grape production for 2020 is forecast at 7.18 million tons, up 4% from last year, according to the latest USDA crop production forecast.
California's wine type grape production is forecast at 4.00 million tons, unchanged from 2019, and represents 59% of California's total grape crop.
California's raisin type grape production is forecast at 1.40 million tons, up 8% from last year, and represents 21% of California's total grape crop.
California's table type grape production is forecast at 1.35 million tons, up 14% from last year and represents the remaining 20% of California's total grape crop. If realized, this will be the highest table grape production on record.
