Sunflower Seed Imports By Turkey Reveal Weak Month

PANAMA - Jun 9/20 - SNS -- At this point in this calendar year posted a weaker month, with sunflower seed imports by Turkey sank relative to the previous month in April, according to official statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Imports reached 116,821 metric tons (MT) for the month, down 34% from the 177,900 MT shipped the previous month. Imports so far total 567,895 MT, compared to 427,955 during the last calendar year.

Russia was the biggest export origin for the month, shipping 93,580 MT. Other was the second most important origin supplying 8,806 MT, followed by Bulgaria at 6,182 MT.
