Birdseeds Maintain Mixed Tone
PANAMA - Mar 14/20 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredients finished the week on a mixed note, with export asking prices for Canadian canaryseed influenced by the recent drop in the value of the Canadian dollar versus the U.S.
Despite weakness in oilseed markets, sunflowers were unchanged to firmer on the week as markets focussed more on supply fundamentals than the relationship with other commodities.
Extreme volatility in currency markets during the past week saw the Canadian dollar end the week sharply lower, giving exporters room to lower prices to try to attract demand without reducing grower bids.
