Sunflower Seed Exports From Russia Sustain Strong Performance
PANAMA - Jul 23/19 - SNS -- Russia's export shipments of sunflower seeds in May jumped compared to the previous month, judging from data from Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Shipments during the month totalled 66,068 metric tons (MT), up from 43,045 MT the prior month. This increased export sales so far during the calendar year to 157,459, up 292% last year.
Turkey was the top consumer during the month, buying 55,890 MT. Belarus was the second most important consumer receiving 4,508 MT, followed by Kazakhstan at 2,529 MT.
