Confection Sunflower Imports By France Start With Weak Tone

PANAMA - Mar 20/19 - SNS -- Opened the calendar year on a softer note, with confection sunflower imports by France were well down, plunging compared to the previous month in January, according to official trade data from Eurostat.

The most recent data showed imports during the month totalled 1,410 metric tons (MT), down 57% from 3,280 the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, imports were down 98% from 67,895 MT.

Current trade statistics revealed Bulgaria was biggest exporter, shipping 553 MT for the month. Spain was the second most important exporter supplying 348 MT, followed by Belgium at 143 MT.
