Mustard Seed Movement Remains Still

PANAMA - Jun 11/16 - SNS -- Export movement of bulk mustard seed through the primary and terminal elevators system slipped behind last season, according to the latest data from the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC).

The performance of bulk markets is consistent with overall trade in Canadian mustard seed. Official export movement through the end of April is down 6.2% at 88,307 metric tons (MT).

For its part, the CGC reports 300 MT of bulk mustard seed export clearances through reporting terminals and primary elevators between May 30 to June 5. That lifted season to date exports to 19,700 MT, compared to 20,100 MT during the previous marketing year. The CGC says season to date exports through terminal elevators include 6,000 MT of No 1 Canada mustard seed.
