Placid Bulk Mustard Shipment Pace

PANAMA - Mar 18/16 - SNS -- The pace at which bulk mustard was loaded for export remained slow during the past week, according to the latest data from the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC).

It reports 600 MT of bulk mustard seed export clearances through reporting terminals and primary elevators between March 7 and March 13. That lifted season to date exports to 12,100 MT, compared to 13,300 MT during the previous marketing year.

Elevators and terminals reported selling 100 MT of mustard seed to domestic buyers during the week. Season to date sales now total 4,500 MT, compared to 4,300 during the same period last season.

There are 5,100 MT of commercial stocks of mustard seed, including: 2,800 MT in primary elevators; 200 MT in West Coast ports; 1,400 MT in Thunder Bay; and 600 MT in St Lawrence ports. There are 1,600 MT if mustard in transit by rail to Canadian ports, compared to 800 MT the previous week.
