Peas Supported by Strong Movement
PANAMA CITY - Sep 26/15 - SNS -- International field pea markets continue to be supported by strong opening season movement of product from Canadian farms to export shipping positions.
If Statistics Canada's 2.92 million metric ton (MT) production estimate is correct, farmers sold and delivered over 38% of the crop to primary elevators during the first seven weeks of the 2015-16 marketing year, compared to 28% at this time last year.
Data on quantities shipped by container will not be available until official export trade data is published for August and September.
