Record Movement Supports Peas

VANCOUVER - Sep 5/15 - SNS -- Field pea markets ended the steady little changed, helped by strong opening season export movement of Canadian field peas.

The pace of shipments is clearly reflected in prices being paid to farmers in western Canada as well as delivery and export statistics from the Canadian Grain Commission.

Growers in Alberta are seeing bids up to U.S. $277 per metric ton (MT) for farmer's dressed product delivered primary elevators and processing plants, compared to $256 MT in Saskatchewan.
