French Pea Exports Soar in June
VANCOUVER - Aug 11/15 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France jumped in June on increased movement to the Indian subcontinent, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments during the month totalled 33,720 metric tons (MT), compared to just 9,740 MT the previous month, and 12,790 MT shipped the same month last year.
Improved shipments during the month helped narrow the gap between movement in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 marketing year. Export clearances for the 2014-15 marketing year ended up at 164,720 MT, down 11% from the previous season.
