New Crop Sales Pace Quickens

VANCOUVER - Aug 22/14 - SNS -- North American field pea markets are completing the transition into new crop pricing, with deliveries of new crop product quickening in both Canada and the United States.

Canada's harvest is most advanced in Alberta, which is reflected in the rapid pace of deliveries of product into the primary elevator system.

During the week ending August 17, Alberta farmers delivered 78,700 metric tons (MT) of peas, compared to 25,600 MT in Saskatchewan and none in Manitoba.
