Markets Encouraged by Strong Exports

VANCOUVER - Mar 7/14 - SNS -- International lentil markets were little changed under relatively light trading conditions.

Unusually rainy weather in parts of India has created some concern about whether this year's red lentil crop along with its kabuli chickpeas could be damaged.

Markets in the United States were helped by the USDA's March 5 purchase of 1,890 metric tons (MT) of l;entils for shipment as food from origin in April.
