Mixed Week For Mustard Seed

PANAMA - Oct 27/23 - SNS -- North American mustard seed markets finished the week on a mixed note, reflecting the ebb and flow of short term shipping needs.

During the week, bids to Canadian growers for No 1 grade yellow mustard delivered processing plants eased 2% to CDN 85 cents per pound, keeping bids in decile eight territory. That means that since 2007, prices were lower 80% of the time.

By contrast, bids for oriental were unchanged on the week at 70 cents per pound, while brown advanced 4% to CDN 73 cents. Prices offered farmers are also in decile eight territory for both classes.
