VANCOUVER - Aug 3/20 - STAT -- Canada's speciallty crop crop dealer price index finished the 2019-20 marketing year inching above the recent three year average.
For the season just ended, the Special Crop Index was 66 points, compared to an annual average of 66 during the previous three year period for dry edible bean classes included in the index calculation.
Analysis of the monthly price pattern reveals the highest monthly average was 76 points in June, while the lowest monthly average trading level was 58 points in September.
During the latest three year period, the highest monthly average trading level was 67 points in February, compared to the lowest monthly average of 64 points in November.
In the following tables, STAT Market Research shows the historic price patterns seen in Canadian inter-dealer markets. These are most obvious in the first table, which examines monthly averages as a percentage of the annual average return.
The data reveals the monthly average bid during the past marketing year, as well as for the previous three, five, and ten years. We also look at years where production was well below or well above the needs of the market.
