Mustard Unchanged Seeding Begins

PANAMA - May 1/20 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets were mostly unchanged on the week, with grower selling keeping pace with the short term needs of processors and exporters.

Markets are looking forward to the delayed seeding intentions report from Statistics Canada, as well as initial seeding progress reports from provincial agriculture departments.

Crop progress reports in some provinces have been delayed because of efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. While seeding is underway, markets can only estimate progress by crops based on anecdotal reports from growers and field agents.
